SOLD!

5 Oct

Well it has been 3 weeks today since we listed Paul’s Condo and it is officially sold as of last night!

We are beyond excited here – I mean we ran around like chickens with no heads to get it all done and ready to list and then we had to wait.  I don’t know what was worse, the running around or the waiting!

There was a A LOT of interest in the property – I believe there were about 11 showings in 14 days.  Paul received his first offer (more…)

Paul’s Condo – The Reveal!

26 Sep

Paul’s condo and is done and on the market!

Where do I even start here?  This project is a perfect addition to our portfolio because it was small enough that we could still maintain our normal work schedules, but big enough that we gained some essential experience in making budget conscious decisions as well as working on a deadline.  There is a little added pressure managing a flip when it’s someone else’s investment (more…)

The Crazy and Hectic Renovation That was “The Condo”

23 Sep

So I am reading through our posts and realizing that I have not been very diligent about posting pics during the whole renovation process… oops!  Truth be told, I actually had a nice long blog written with pictures and all but I ran into a few technical glitches and for the sake of my computer and the living room window, I had to walk away ;)

Onward and forward… (more…)

If all else fails, I can make chip cakes :)

23 Sep

Is September really almost over?  I know it has been FULL of fun and entertaining things, but as I sit and here and type I’m having trouble recalling it all! I know one thing that I didn’t do… blog! (blush) It might be time to invest in a wireless stick thingy ;)

I have a lot of catching up to do here.  First of all, Paul’s Condo is DONE and on the market!  YAY!!!!!!  You can find it on MLS and/or wait another hour or 2 and everything will be posted here.  I will fill you in on all of the nitty gritty there on another post.

In the meantime I have been working away at my 2 jobs, trying my hand at golf, attending weddings (more…)

What to do, what to do…

26 Aug

Do you ever feel like this?  I’m kind of feeling like this right now.

Life is busy.  Life is full of choices.  I have been going through this process of trying to make a living from what I am passionate about, and I am very confident that I am heading in that direction… but WHY can’t it all happen NOW!  Those who know me know that I am not a patient person &  I never have been. I want what I want and I want it yesterday!  Not in a spoiled brat kind of way, more in a “this is amazing and I cannot wait another second for it to happen!”  kind of way.  Unfortunately this has resulted in a few bad choices along the way… but I’m learning ;-)

Here is my frustration.  (more…)

Conor’s Office – The Reveal!

10 Aug

Here is what you have all been waiting for!  The AFTER PICS of Conor’s Office!

I admit it was a tad stressful doing a project for my boyfriend.  He is a little more on the frugal side which is usually a good thing lol but when it comes to things he does not feel are practical – forget it!  So when he offered $500 for his budget and then listed the things he wanted for the office (including 5 new pieces of furniture!) we had to have a bit of a conversation.  I really pushed his limit when (more…)

Material Selection for the Laundry Room

4 Aug

I spent some time in the Laundry room on Sunday.

Before we can get into the fun stuff, there was still some mudding and taping to do so I finished all of that (with a little help from Conor and a refresher course from Dad).  Next I’ll have to go back and sand the first coat and then add a second.

Here’s the fun stuff!  Vanessa & I went to Eden Tile It last week to pick up some samples.  Mom wants glass mosaic (more…)

What a Weekend!

3 Aug

We had SO much going on this weekend, I don’t even know where my update should start!  Not only do we have Mom’s Laundry Room on the go, but we had just started plans on another new project that has all of a sudden taken over!

Paul’s Condo currently looks as though a small natural disaster has passed through (luckily Paul had made arrangements to stay far, far away during the renos – although for the sake of his anxiety levels I should advise him to stay off the blog (more…)

How Earls created a Raving Fan

22 Jul

Whether you are a business owner or not, Raving Fans is a must read!  It is about a business owners approach to customer service as well as what we as should expect as the consumer.  Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles point out that in general our standards for quality customer service have become quite low.  Think about it, when is the last time that you received service or a product that you are not 100% satisfied with but did nothing about it.  Well… you probably complained about it to someone and perhaps you even let it ruin your day.  Raving Fans is all about how you as a business owner can and should go that extra mile to deliver exceptional customer service, which brings me to my story about Earls. Sneak Peak

12 Jul

The final reveal will be posted in no later than 2 weeks, we are just waiting on one final element (a surprise that we ordered for Conor last week).  Once that is in place we will post all the pics, the video reveal and our summary of the project.  I’m even going to (try to) get Conor to pour some emotion onto paper and let you know his thoughts!

For now, here are some pics to give you a sneak peak at how we spent our weekend… (more…)
